Mail List ModeratorsCOPD-Support Mail Lists are available in two formats regular or digest. Regular is an as-they-are-posted e-mail messages and the Digest is a single e-mail message containing all the messages posted in the day. Messages for mail lists are moderated which means someone looks at each message before it appears on a list. This also means messages sent to a list are slightly delayed - will not appear on a list until passed on by one of our volunteer moderators. Approval ModeratorsApproval Moderators are fellow subscribers who volunteer their time to review messages in hopes of reducing administrative posts while assuring that management sees them, to rid the list of spam, bad URL's, and messages that do not fit within the guidelines. Moderators do not censor, edit, or correct a message in any manner. It is either posted it its entirety or rejected in its entirety. Posts that contain religious, political, activist and other such off-topic items are rejected. When COPD and off topic items are mixed, it presents situations which only management can handle plus it prompts complaints and disrupts the list. No one is singled out to be a victim of moderating: COPD's mail lists are not open bulletin boards for indiscriminate posting but private mail lists with established guidelines. (See Policies.) Redirect ModeratorsRedirecting the messages from one list to the other is what ties the mail lists together and gives the group a family feeling. As only one mail list allows off-topic messages only on-topic messages are redirected. Moderators are assigned to one mail list and review all messages posted to that mail list, redirecting the ones they believe would be of interest to the other mail lists.
Moderator VolunteeringTo volunteer to be a moderator, fill out the form below: Please volunteer only after you have been a subscriber with us for at least 60 days. Moderators need to be seasoned subscribers. You may volunteer for either one or both jobs; however redirecting requires you to have an Internet provider that allows use of Eudora Mail Software. |
